Found only in the Bahoruco province of the Dominican Republic, larimars are rare, semi-precious stones embodying, cultural and artistic traits. Born from the bowels of the Earth, inside volcanic crevices, the lovely blues of the larimar stones are reminiscent of the colors observed in the Caribbean seas. Symbolically, larimar stones also honor and pays tribute to the element of water. The living, dynamic energy of water serves as an “arch”, or a bridge, between us and the Source of all things. The mutable and sensitive element of water is our heritage as it stores sacred memory spiraling and flowing through seen and unseen spaces. With extraordinary and mystical characteristics yet to be discovered, the law of constant change is also part of waters’ DNA. As a revered and Earthly element, water is the Cosmic Leader of our souls, the Creator Spirit of humanity, the Oracle and foundation of Arch Larimar.

Rising From The Elements of the Senses

Arch Larimar contributes to water’s Divine Cosmology as an expression of its essence. It is said that larimar stones were discovered when, from the inner crevice of a volcano, these crystallized blue mineral deposits fell into a river and tumbled downstream, washing upon a beach. There, the stones were seen by island natives who later used these larimar stones to craft adornments. The allure of employing “larimar” as part of our companies’ num-de-plum was inspired by the creative ingenuity behind its archival use in the hands of skilled artisans living on land intimately surrounded by water. Robert Simmons, author of The Book of Stones, claims that larimars “open the pathway to the Divine stair of ascension.” Coined the stone with “answers from the sea of consciousness” larimar is also said to project serenity to those who hold it. May this space between us be blessed as we explore the sea sages residing within all of humanity.

ESTABLISHED in 2014 and headquartered in downtown New York City, Arch Larimar contributes to the world of beauty with all things oracle. Before they were associated with the telling of destinies, tarot cards were treasured playing sets enjoyed by royal families and aristocrats. Some of these hand-painted heirloom pieces are archived in prominent historical, artistic and cultural institutions such as The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, The Morgan Library & Museum, The Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, MA, Yale University's Beinecke Rare Book & Manuscript Library in New Haven, CT and the Academia di Bella Arti in Bergamo, Italy, to name just a few. Its eventual use as a "divination" tool has cast shadows over tarot's creative formation. Yet, tarot has sustained its artistic stamp while also providing intelligence into the inquiries of personal self-mastery. Mesmerized by the tangled history of tarot, we were inspired to create collections that celebrate and revive the artistry of oracles while preserving them as valued instruments of fate. Arch Larimar delivers a personal experience of art through celestial tools that bring forth a new and ever expanding ways of re-introducing caliber tarot and oracle decks with a modern, spiritual constitution. OUR MISSION is to create meaningful, creative works with sacred purpose. Our aim is to cultivate, contribute and be of service to you. We consider this to be a sacred agreement inspired by the bow and arrow imagery which galvanized the creation of Arch Larimar’s logo. Symbolically, this archer's instrument evokes the awakening power of love - a cosmic principle of immense transformational capacity. The mythological story behind the Vedic god of desire, Kamadeva, best exemplifies the inner workings of this indestructible and eternal force. Legend claims that one day Kamadeva prepared his bow and arrow (made of sugarcane and flowers) and shot it at the heart of the Supreme god, Shiva, so that Shiva would fall in love with Parvati, the goddess of devotion. The arrow hit its intended target while Shiva's eyes were closed in meditation. Shiva was said to have been so angry that his meditative state was disturbed that when he opened his eyes blazing blue flames came out of his third-eye chakra burning Kamadeva into a pile of ashes. Nonetheless, the spirit of love prevailed and upon seeing her, Shiva fell in love with Parvati. Thereafter, the goddess begged Shiva to bring back the god of desire. Shiva abided and revived Kamadeva as the invisible power of love. Kamadeva's physical form, however, was never seen again. The mission and pathway is love. The agreement is to love’s creative force.

INGRID AYBAR is an artist, oracle, spiritual sea sage, personal transformation thought leader, and an intuitive entrepreneurial strategist. Born and raised in New York City, Ingrid founded Arch Larimar by accident - or perhaps by destiny. In her struggle to heal and forgive the circumstances surrounding her childhood traumas, she was coached to do what she loved to do as a child - draw and write. Initially, she had no idea what to draw. She had forgotten how crayons felt, what it felt like to be a child artist. As an avid dreamer, she dreamt of an image which she woke up to replicate and design the next day. The images kept coming in dreams and then she recognized one - The Magician. That’s when she realized she was illustrating a tarot deck! After many years of dreaming and perfecting her images, she designed, illustrated and wrote Arch Larimar’s debut letterpress card deck entitled, Arc En Ciel Tarot. The rest, as they say, is history. Her visionary approach to any entrepreneurial endeavor is to stay humble, be authentically grounded and remain grateful no matter what.
